AREA ACTIVITIES

A winter paradise awaits the snowmobiler in the Superior National Forest. Come and enjoy riding excitement through remote forests and over frozen lakes and rivers. The Yukon Trail, between Isabella & Two Harbors, and the Tomahawk Trail, which runs from the North Shore Trail near Crooked Lake, through Isabella to Ely, are well groomed and accessible to food, fuel and lodging.

Beautiful country for fishing and hunting. Nearby are McDougal, Gegoka, Grouse, Kitigan & Mitawan Lakes. Flathorn Lake is popular for it's picnic area with BBQ pits and public swimming beach and is only a half mile from Knotted Pine Inn.

Hiking enthusiasts will enjoy scenic footpaths around the shores of both Flathorn and McDougal Lakes. Map boxes are located at the beginning of each trail.

Where the Yukon Trail meets Highway 1, Knotted Pine Inn & Tavern has direct access to the Tomahawk Trail. Knotted Pine Inn & Tavern is on a spur of the Tomahawk Trail about 3 miles down and about 50 feet from the Yukon Trail.
